ANTIQUE TRADERS SAN FRANCISCO SELLS FAKE TIFFANY LAMPS
I WAS SOLD A FAKE TIFFANY LAMP BASE BY ALAN SCHNEIDER OF ANTIQUE TRADERS IN SAN FRANCICO CA. HE TOLD ME IT WAS A REAL TIFFANY BASE BUT IT TURNS OUT TO BE FAKE. THE SHADE THAT CAME WITH THE LAMP WAS NOT SIGNED AND COULD BE FAKE ALSO. I COMPLAINED TO THE BBB AND THEY SENT MR. SCHNEIDER SEVERAL LETTERS AND HE NEVER RESPONDED. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS? HE SAYS HE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS 38 YEARS..I WONDER HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HE HAS DONE THIS KIND OF THING TO? I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACDE AND DEAL WITH ONLY REPUTABLE DEALERS.

FAKE TIFFANY WINDOW SOLD BY ALAN SCHNIDER OWNER OF ANTIQUE TRADERS SAN FRANCISCO
I was duped into buying a fake Tiffany window by Alan Schneider owner of Antique Traders in San Francisco. I was just getting started collecting Tiffany and I trusted Alan Schneider who has 35 years experience in Tiffany and selling antiques. Watch out for this guy he is slick. Several experts from major auction houses examined the Tiffany and told me I paid 20 times what this fake is worth. I asked the store owner to cancel the sale and refund my money but he refuses. Antique Traders in San Francisco and the owner Alan Schneider is not to be trusted.

Good old Alan, Have not seen him in years, yep he had repo, and good Tiffany Studios items mixed all through his store, and that was 15 years ago. Folks it's buyers beware, and it's much worse today than it used to be, they all lie today, if you have been collecting for 50+ years and have researched for most of that you still can get smacked, you better know what the h you are doing, and better know Tiffany Glass like the back of your hand.
Today the biggest Dealers all over the country are Hogs and just in it for the bucks, they have no interest in collecting Tiffany Studios items. The Lamps are the Worst Ones, there are many fakes abound, and if it's good you will be told it's fake, so they steal it, if you ever want to sell.
Tiffany Has become a cut through game, so know what you are doing, today all Antiques are a scam, paintings are even much worse.??? BEWARE, BEWARE,BEWARE, also watch the auctions they are where the fakes are born, J.R.
you might want to come and see the store before making judgement ,the antique traders has been in business at the same location in san Francisco for the past 45 years.....we only sell authentic articles of the art nouveau period.,...please give us an opportunity and making your own conclusion...thanks, the owner
While customer's comment is years old, I am surprised to read this about Alan Schneider. I'm a collector of Tiffany Lamps & Vases and have purchased seven items from The Antique Traders over the last 20+ years and have found his product to not only be 100% authentic but Schneider to be extremely knowledgeable and honest. I'm pretty savvy when it comes to Art Nouveau pieces and while we live in Houston and thus, must travel to find pieces to enhance our collection, know that The Antique Traders and one NY store are the only two destinations I seek out to build our collection.

You cant buy an original tiffany finial for 140.00 only a novice would buy the lamp. Its probably Dale Tiffany.
Do your home work A close friend sold a tiffany lamp last year for 1.65 million dollars. let the buyer beware If its too good to be true it is
B.S. THERE IS NO LAMP THAT RARE YOUR FULL OF IT, 50+ YEARS OF COLLECTING I WATCH SIR LOL.LOL.LOL.
This is absolutely true. I have backup from 3 major auction houses the window is a fake, the base is not correct and the shade is questionable.
I asked for a refund but he would not refund my money. The BBB tried to help but Mr. Alan Schneider would not respond to their letters.
He knew he was selling fake Tiffany. Only deal with reputable Dealers.
I have traveled to SF many times over the last 20 years and was introduced to Alan Schneider when I first visited his shop. I collect Tiffany and am very savvy about what is real and what is questionable and thus have to respond to chenry's experience.
Over the years I have purchased three Tiffany lamps, five Tiffany vases and one Tiffany chandelier, all exquisite and all most assuredly authentic. All from Alan Schneider who I have found to be among the most knowledgeable and certainly an incredibly honest Tiffany dealer.
He is the only person on the West Coast with a significant collection of Tiffany (the others in NY) and a great plus, he has offered to purchase back from me any of the items I bought from him (I wouldn't part with any of them).
Hello missy, try to sell it now?????????? you will only get 1/2 your investment back the tiffany market has all but crashed because of the N.Y.
